ELECTROMECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS
1. INSULATED PIN (AA)
The Insulated  Pin is integrated by a lead thimble which is assembled to a pin type insulator,  a threaded galvanized steel bolt that is fastened to the cross arm, and a 4 to  6 cm  polymer concrete interface between them. The Insulated Pins must be installed  together with a standard pin type insulator, therefore obtaining a detachable  set.

RELIABILITY OF THE INSULATED PINS (AA Y AAF)
The Insulated Pin (with  and without weather shed), offers a cantilever resistance greater than  400 kg, whereas the mechanical effort  caused by the weight of the conductor does not exceed  250 kgs.

The  insulating body offers excellent dielectric properties and high tracking  resistance. The Insulated Pins fulfill the CFE 52000-04 specification.

As  a part of the product quality assurance, a sample of 20% of the production of  the Insulated Pins are tested with  three steep front impulses (2  TFC (-), 2000  a 2500 kV/µs).

INSTALLATION:  The Insulated Pins must be installed together with the standard pin type  insulators, replacing the Metallic Pin that mechanically supports the  insulator.

2. INSULATED PIN WITH WEATHER SHED (AAF)

With the same  arrangement previously described, and with the intention of increasing the  leakage distance of the insulator, an insulated pin with a weather shed can be  used. This product, in combination with the standard pin type insulator,  provides an effective solution in high contamination  areas.
