INTRODUCTION

In the last  years, the electrical utilities have faced serious problems to maintain a  reliable operation of their transmission and distribution lines located in areas  with high level of lightning strikes or contamination. Furthermore, these lines  are located throughout a great variety of ambient conditions and  topographies.

To reduce the  transmission and distribution line failures, MAPPEC has developed insulating and  protection devices (Surge Arresters) that grant a much better reliability to the  systems and provides the users with better solutions than the standard  insulating practices.
 
 
 


INSULATED PINS
This product  is integrated by a lead thimble which is assembled to a pin type insulator, a  threaded galvanized steel bolt that is fastened to the cross arm and a polymer  concrete interface between them. The Insulated Pins must be installed together  with a standard pin type insulator, therefore obtaining a detachable set that  provides additional dielectric distance and prevents a puncture  failure. SURGE ARRESTERS
This product is a lightning electrical  surge suppressor. The surges are drained through an external air gap connected  in series with nonlinear metallic oxides which are encapsulated inside a polymer  concrete body to avoid moisture absorption and partial  discharges. (More info)
